The Stage
SCA Gallery Sydney University
2005
In the sculpture The Stage, three dingoes circle a raised platform. It is bare and the even placement of the dogs around its perimeter accentuates the efficiency of their working pack and the absence of a central activity. The viewer has been denied the performance for which the stage had been erected.
Constructed in sheet aluminium and riveted together, its slightly raised surface off the ground emphasis’s an order and reinforces its position.
