Enter the Fatman
Kudos Gallery Sydney
2003
The Fatman, master of ceremonies, ringmaster, conman, judge and executioner stands before us on an elevated stage. He wields authority that is consistent with position. Within this arena he directs our course. Displaying qualities reminiscent of figures such as Monopoly’s rich Uncle Pennybags and Batman’s supervillain and archenemy The Penguin, The Fatman exudes simultaneously both power and humour.
The central figure The Fatman stands slightly larger than life size at two meters tall with a microphone in his right hand. Mirrors of differing size are purposefully placed within the exhibition space.
